Restaurant Voltaire

Restaurant Voltaire

During my walks on the Seine, as I had just passed Musee d’Orsay I came across this wonderful cafe & restaurant called Restaurant Voltaire.  Voltaire was a french enlightenment writer who was famous for his wit and attacks on the church.  He is most well known for his strong belief in freedom of speech.

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” – Voltaire

I stuck to this motto too much abroad, and said goodbye to my bank account.

They have a basic french menu, I ordered a sandwich.. just a simple meat and bread sandwich (had to ask for butter since they don’t do mayo that often), coffee and glass of wine.

Just so you get an idea how easy it is to find walking along the Seine River…  I didn’t come here based off any recommendations just my stumbling upon it after going to the Museum.
