Give Me All The Headbands

Give Me All The Headbands

Hair accessories are now in trend and I am totally okay with it. I’ve always secretly loved headbands but my friends never liked when I wore them. Now I feel like I can join the crowd and wear what my heart desires. I was able to try on some amazing headbands from a company called Kezmay London:

In this little outfit post I was wearing all Zara and Kezmay. Kezmay makes the jacket and headband, and Zara is everything else, including the red heels. Something else I’ve been into lately is hair clips and scrunchies. Too trendy? Not sure, but it really spices up my dull hair.

Have a good one.

Wild at Heart

Wild at Heart

You can find me staring in awe at all the lovely flowers at Nikki Tibbles “Wild at Heart” flower shop in Notting Hill all day! If you weren’t already gazing at all of the colorful houses on your way to the shop, this will stop you in your tracks.

With bright turquoise green tile, narrow shape and gorgeous blooms you’re bound to gravitate here uncontrollably. It’s a great place to take friends and a must-see for tourists. My big question to them was “when do you get peonies in?” With their answer being May!

Instagrammers (me included) flock to their bouquet to pose and smell the roses, literally. The people who worked there were running around, making sure their stand stay full. If you’re in the area across the street they have a couple of cute cafes! We tried togo to Farm Girl which was close but the line was out the door. We’ll save that for our next adventure. Something you should know is that the bouquets are pretty pricey, but I think you could assume that by just looking at them! Below is a picture of me in my habitat, amongst the flowers xx

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend, and start to the month. It’s April which is absolutely insane. I’m excited for the nice weather but I get nervous about what will happen for me after October. I love London, never want to leave 🙂 But home is where the heart is, so wherever my heart takes me xx
Here’s a link to the shoes from Zara which are still available.

Like Literally

Like Literally

As a lady in her late twenties I find I easily get thrown into the “basic white girl” stereotype. Like, OMG I like fashion, photography, social media, flowers and brunch. Like, sue me, I DIE. But in all reality please stop all the judgement society (and men). I went to school for cinematography, so photography is pretty much another passion of mine. As someone whose been into anything visual or aesthetically pleasing my whole life, it would come to no surprise that I’ve always loved fashion and lifestyle as well. Fashion to me is a way of self expression, it has nothing to do with dressing for others. I can transform my confidence level from an 80% to a solid 99% with an outfit that makes me feel great. To that other 1%, lets be honest I ain’t ever feeling 100% perfect. If you are congrats!  And in regards to that brunch judgement, I genuinely am just hungover and in need of a bloody mary and a possible side of waffles. You shouldn’t think too much into that sort of thing.

But seriously going back to the whole social media, Instagram and influencer thing it makes a lot of sense when you think about it. What is the main reason for any human to take a picture? My first answer would to share it with others. As someone who studied the art of film, I felt that storytelling was always a visual thing. I wasn’t much of a writer (and still am not) hence all my grammatical errors and delay in postings. When I meet up with friends and I tell them about my experiences abroad I find myself drawing blanks as I can not find the words to identify with the feeling. The best way I can  give someone an idea of a feeling or a memory is a photograph or video.

So, thank god for social media. I don’t need to write down or discuss my stories for the most part. I can simply post a picture, and lately that’s been all I needed to do in order for others to see my vision, my world and the perspective I have on anything. The gist of this whole post is to nip the Instagram and social media haters in the bud. Our culture has been accustom to sharing our experiences with others, mainly to connect. It seems odd but we’re in a crazy time of loneliness yet constant sharing. I am not saying don’t go out and have a conversation or don’t make friends. Because believe me my favorite thing todo is share a great dialogue but I believe social media has just elevated the way we express ourselves on a larger scale. We all want to feel appreciated, understood and close-knit to the world. This is just one of the newer ways we do it.

A Parisian Inspired Picnic

A Parisian Inspired Picnic

acs_0573 One year and couple of weeks ago today I was basking in the hot parisian, with a bottle of sancerre white wine next to me (and same bottle pictured I brought back) and buttery pastry in hand. This past weekend I tried to recreate the my picnic that I had under the Eiffel Tower. I brought some other essentials with me such as the La Colombe coffee, aesthetically pleasing flowers, ASOS “bonjour” bag, still life looking fruit, Paris tourist book and Forever 21 purse.

It was so sunny that day I was happy I had my three pairs of ILYMix sunglasses with me to choose from. I got the Campo, Cape and Haala style from them. ILYMix has allowed me to give my followers a discount on their own sunglasses (it expires July 21st!) so get them while you can. Here’s my referral link to get your own ILYMix sunnies.

Hope you’re having a good week!
